ALPA, PBGC, and Your
Pension
Representatives of
District 141 also met this past week with representatives of ALPA to
share information regarding the ongoing discussions with the PBGC about
the expected improvement to monthly benefits of eligible United active
and retired Members. The PBGC is currently recalculating the amount of
money that should have gone directly to recipient benefits instead
completely to the PBGC. Preliminary reviews indicate that some of our
current retirees will see additional money in their monthly checks. The
complete review and final determinations will not been done for months.
Conversations directly with the PBGC have already begun and will
continue as this very important review is conducted.
