Rita M. Powers

Rita M. Powers passed away peacefully following a long illness at the age of 81, two days after her birthday on December 10, 2011 in San Mateo. She was born in Chicago, Illinois and graduated in the top one percent of her high school class.
She and her husband, James L. Powers,
moved to St. Louis, MO and later to San Mateo in 1960.

A graduate of the College of San Mateo, Rita worked for many years as a computer programmer at the United Airlines Maintenance Base at the San Francisco International Airport.
She was employed as a programmer for
the San Mateo County Courts for five years.

Reece Robert Barnes

Reece Robert Barnes, 4/22/1933 to 12/6/2011. Resident of Brentwood From 1962-2005, Reece was born in Bozeman, Montana and graduated from Courtland High School in 1951.

Reece was a 4 year Navy veteran before graduating from Sacramento City College with a Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate in 1957. Reece's love of flying would lead to a career in Aviation. Reece was an Aviation Pilot for 25 years before becoming a Mechanic for United Airlines.

John (Doc) Crowthers

John (Doc) Crowthers died on December 9, 2011
from complications with dialysis and Diabetes.
John retired in 1987 from SFOCC with 25 years at
United Airlines. He leaves behind his wife Olive Crowthers,
daughter Cheryl Halderman and son Mark B. Crowthers.

Solo Kakalia passed on September 3, 2011
after an extended battle with cancer.
Solo was only 47 years old. Employed by United Airlines
