Nominations: Nominations will open under the agenda item of New Business at the
regular membership meeting of Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at 4pm.
Elections: Polls will open at 6am (0600 hours) at the regular membership meeting
on Wednesday, December 10, 2008, and will close at the adjournment of the
meeting.
Absentee Ballot Requests: Members who reside more than 25 miles from the
designated balloting place; members who are confined because of verified illness
of on leave qualifying under U.S. and Canadian Family Leave laws; or on
vacation; or on official IAM business approved by the L.L., D.L. or G.L.; or on
employer travel assignment or reserve military leave are eligible for absentee
ballots. Any member entitled to an absentee ballot shall make written request
not later than 30 days before the election. Such requests should be delivered to
the Recording Secretary, Air Transport Employees Local Lodge 1781, IAMAW, 1511
Rollins Rd., Burlingame, CA. 94010-2398, stating the reason for requesting a
mail ballot.
Those members living north of San Francisco County, all East Bay counties, San
Mateo County south of Pacifica on the coast and south of Amphitheater Parkway on
the Peninsula are assumed to live more than twenty-five (25) miles from the
Lodge Hall.
Individual requests for Absentee ballots hand delivered to the Recording
Secretary or postmarked no later than November 11, 2008 will be accepted.
Members of Local Lodge 1781 in good standing and employed at United Airlines,
Northwest Airlines and US Airways are eligible and encouraged to participate in
this election.
